It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of Lawrence’s food! So, you can imagine how happy I was when I first heard they would open a butcher shop. My dream has come true. Now I can buy Lawrence’s delicious homemade bacon and use it in my recipes at home! Lawrence Boucherie, located just a few steps from Lawrence restaurant in the Mile End, opened its doors a couple of months ago to offer locally and respectfully raised meat, charcuterie and sandwiches, as well as dairy, eggs and more from small independent producers.
The space looks way better than a regular butcher shop. It’s bright, airy and beautifully decorated. There is a bar counter with stools, so you can relax, have a sandwich and enjoy the ambience before buying your meat.
I had the pleasure of enjoying Boucherie Lawrence’s Porchetta Sandwich. It was a blast! This succulent and tasty piece of meat in a sandwich is just divine, especially when paired with their delicious lemonade.
Other sandwich choices included Ham, Roast Beef and Smoked Sausage. All of them prepared with fresh bread loaves and generous amounts of butter and mustard, then nicely wrapped in butcher paper.
Boucherie Lawrence also makes its own charcuterie – including salumi, sausages and smoked meat. I tried the Pepperoni and I really liked it! You won’t get something like that elsewhere.
